Since the weather was somewhat mild (-13 celsius), I decided to go shoot a little bit with a friend of mine. It was colder than I had anticipated, so I ended up shooting only three groups and then I packed up for the night.

So far, I'm very impressed with the P30L: even though I've been shooting the USP for over a year, I still managed to outshoot it with my most recent acquisition. I can't wait until they have proper holsters and extra mags for it.

:D

PS. I didn't measure the groups, but I'm guessing you can estimate them with the IPSC target dimensions. The patches were from my friend's shots.

I found the P30-L to be a bit more accurate then my USP's..
The DA of the USP does not compare (in my experience) to the P30-L,...the USP out of the box was a but gritty,...the DA of the P30-L was around 10-11lbs,..but smooth and consistant. I believe the SA trigger press of the USP with match trigger to have a shorter reset.

here is my grouping from last month after I sighted it in. The rear sight needed to come over just about a millimetre.

I've got to say that I've never been a big fan of any HK products, ever. I just don't like them. Of the one's I've held and my buddies that I shot, I thought I could go forever and not ever own a HK.

Then, earlier this week, I was at the range and a guy next to me had the P30. I asked if I could hold it, to which he agreed and I've got to admit, I thought it was really, really nice.

It's Feather light, really nice grip and I could reach all of the controls.

If I had the money, I would seriously consider one in a heart beat, which is something quite honestly I never thought I would be saying.

Yeah,...I kinda wanted to just keep shooting my tanfoglio's,....but something in me just kept getting pulled back to the dark side. I love the reliability of the USP,..but after gripping a stock2,.I felt as though I was gripping a chair leg when I held my USP. Sold that off with no intentions of getting another HK anytime soon. Then I heard of the work that went into the creation of the HK45 and P30/ P30-L. I have no plans of selling this one. I don't know of any pistol in production with this many grip options...

In regards to the mags availability...

Received 3, 2 weeks ago... Were pre-ordered at Wolverine. Not cheap though...

Ah, very nice. Thanks for the head's up. I'll return the favor: it seems Comp-Tac (company) has a holster for the P30.

I'm waiting on their reply to know if it's compatible with the L.

I think I sent them an email for their holster, never received any reply...

COMP-TAC makes the P30L belt holster and it's IPSC legal. It's 68$ + 28$ shipping... so probably around 130$ all said and done for us canucks.

BTW,...just finished hacking on my SPeedsec race holster for the USP. It needed opening inside it,...and overall reduction in the holster length that covers the trigger guard. Also,..the last part was trimming the second retainer that scoops over the trigger guard as the gun is holstered. Works great and locks reliably. NOw I have three holster that work with my HK P30-L!!
