For you Steyr. Not. Steyr. fans, this is the new Australian military rifle making its way to Canada in semi-auto form. It's pretty awesome!

I think we're still waiting on a Non Restricted classification, which would be ideal.

I'd like to see it with a faux suppressor to cover up the added barrel length. Something nice and large diameter.

Looks good, though! I wonder what HOB is compared to an AR15 - do you need standard height irons and optic mounts, or "micro" sized stuff?

Get a shorty brake and it probably won't look so bad with the current barrel length imo. Hope they all come with the fluted barrel too!

Well I hope your right but the factory claims lineage off the Steyr Aug TDP which was sold originally to the Aussie's, I suppose a miracle can happen but I will remain skeptical based on previous decisions by the laboratory!!!

I didn't even know that this was under consideration! I really like the look of it—and I do have a soft sport for bullpups. As for optic mounting height, it looks similar to the FS2000—I've used full-sized Aimpoint sights with the spacer removed with good success, and I'm currently using an MRO in a low mount. I find that mounts designed for the Tavor or for AR co-witness are too high on the FS2000 and look like they'll also be on the F90. Here's a quick side-by-side comparison of the mounting heights:

Dont think there is any added barrel length for us. If anything we may be allowed to cut them down 1.5". I believe the Australian Defense Force buys them with 20" barrels.
