I'm contemplating mating an SA15.7 upper that I have on the way with an SA20 lower that I have. Read CC's write-up on how they came up with 15.7 in for the barrel, and decided &'d go that route (and wasn't able to find a complete SA15.7).

I know the roll-mark & the upper aren't going to match, and I know I'll have to get the registration adjusted, and I know that negatively affects the value of both the upper and the lower. But what I would like to canvas opinions on is what is the approximate value of a BNIB SA 20 upper.

I know the SA15.7's were a few hundred dollars more than the SA20's. And there've been a few uppers on the EE (I think), but I can't recall what the asking prices were. Feeliing out the market to help decide whether or not to keep the SA20 upper, or just share its lower between the two uppers...

Thanks everyone!

Expect a SA20 to sell for slightly less then their current new price of $1,799. if BNIB and more in a few weeks/months when they aren't available new anymore.

I would keep the SA20 if possible as it would keep your CC rifle all original (if I understand correctly) allowing it to increase in value over time, also it should prove more accurate then the SA 15.7 upper if you ever want to reach out past 300M (as CC has stated).

I'd either keep both uppers you have or trade up your SA 15.7 upper for an IUR 15.7 upper which according to CC will offer even better accuracy. That's the CC combo that is most appealing to me at this time (a complete SA 20 rifle with a 2nd IUR upper), regardless you can't go wrong with any CC kit.

Cheers D

They aren't going to be making anymore SA15.7 uppers...ever. The same for SA20s. There are plans to continue to manufacture IUR uppers and complete rifles. The Law of Supply and Demand will tell you which will grow in value.
