Quick Question - OAL of a complete 7.5" ar15 upper

My 8.5" upper is 17.5" long with a standard a2 flash hider. I'd wait until you actually get the upper first and which muzzle device you're going to put on it before you get a case that way you know the exact length. Don't forget to measure your width to as that can vary depending on if you run a forgrip and the type of optic you have. For example mine's 10" wide with a CQR fore grip and the strike fire mounted.

I agree I have 3 7.5" uppers all are different lengths because they all have different muzzle devices on them

Do you have any recommendations for muzzle devices? I'm not too familiar/knowledgeable about them so I've been unsure on those

I have ones that accept blast shields, because with a 7.5" there will be alot of concussion for the shooter and more so for people beside and around you.
I have Griffin armament, Ferfrans CQB, and Fortis ......All are removable, but the people shooting around you will appreciate if you don't remove it
Here you can see as soon as I start shooting the shorty, everyone looks over and says WTF is that...And then at the end you can hear the range officer jokingly say "were going to ban your ass", you can also see the blast making the mat on the counter bounce in the air with every shot...... And that's with a blast shield. If you shoot .223 its not as bad, but .556 nobody wants to shoot beside you

To help you with a rough estimate I just measured 2 of my 7.5" uppers
1 is 16-3/4" from the back of the charging handle to the front of the muzzle brake but the upper does not have a forward assist
2 is the same but because it has a forward assist its 16-7/8" from the back of the forward assist to the end of the muzzle brake
