quick question on M14 stocks

Never handled a Norc Mystery wood M305, but I've heard the horror stories. ( Soaked in some sort of Cosmo, poor finish, ugly etc.)

However I can say that the new synthetic stocks are very nice pieces. No flaws at all in the molding, and they look ###y.

Too bad Boyds stopped shipping up here. They have some nice hardwood stocks. Although i hear they cut them a bit big to accommodate the M1A.

In my tests, the plastic BELL/Poly stock liner did NOT allow several of my Norinco rifles to "drop in". The NEW 2009 POLY stock liners need a small amount of grinding at the lower front edge of the bedding surfaces before they will take a Norc receiver ... there seems to be a short section that didn't get the cutter all the way down.

No big deal ... take the stock liner out, and a few seconds with a file should allow all M14 receivers to fit.

Can you show me where I have to file down ie picture please
I am having the same prob. And cannot see where.

I have a Boyds Pepper Laminate Type I that I bought before I got my M14! I love the look and feel of it and can't wait to mate it to my Norinco 2007.

Yep... the Boyds stocks are awesome. Just have to be bedded properly and you are good to go.

The front is huge, I love mine. When you look at the action sitting in it, it always reminds of a Mini 14 because it looks so small with all the wood on the outsides.
