Looking to buy a harness tonight on ebay for tree stand hunting, and its been a while since I last hunted from a tree where I just used a waist belt style safety harness, if you could even call it that LOL.

So I'm looking at one of these guys that can save you in your fall and then you can control a break to lower yourself to the ground, anyone use one like this, or recommend something similar? If I order it tonight I could have it by Friday so I'm in a hurry :(

Thanks for any help, heres the one I'm looking at,

Well rubberdown,
you can't beat the price on that harness. It will definitely be a crotch grabber, so beware the jewels....
It looks like it will do the trick. If you intend to be supported by the harness itself, ie. "sit" in it, then you should look at some of the models that have a full strap for under the butt, designed to ease the achey balls syndrome. If, on the other hand you are using it for safety only (if you fall), then it should be fine, provided you aren't knocked unconscious.
It also looks like an American site, so you might want to double-check your shipping dates.
Good luck and happy hunting.

Thanks David, yes its just for safety sake. I live on the border and have a U.S. shipping address so I just gotta send the wife over to pick it up Friday when it arrives.

Do u want it for protection as your climbing up or just while your in there? If just while your in there, I'd just use a short length of climbing rope, just short enough that it won't actually allow you to fall.

Have that harness and found after long sits my back started to hurt as the rope for your fall is in the back of the harness and pressed up against you. I just bought a regular harness and a life line as a substitute.

I finally got out to use this harness and love it as far as wearing it and packing it into the bush goes. I wore it under my coat so it was only visible at the leg straps. With any luck I will never "need" it to save my life. The back was a tiny bit bulky but it didnt find it bothered me in the stand. The only issue I had with it is that being under my coat, I couldnt put my hood up this morning and it was friggin cold out there LOL. Next time I'll remember to bring my toque.
