Just renewed my Small games / fishing for the new year (Ontario) and this is the first time I have done it online (sure beats waiting in line at Service Ontario)

Question is, am I to expect something in the mail soon or is the 8.5x11" paper print out the only licence I will get.
Cheers,

-Tim

The printout is your temporary licence. You'll get your new Outdoors Card within a couple weeks. Mine was less than 2 weeks.

I believe OP is referring to the small game and fishing licenses themselves, not the actual outdoors card... In which case, the printout is your license for the year.....

So MNR presently doesn't even send out the yellow version of the paper license afterwards?

Wish they had stuck to issuing those tiny stamps for the yearly seasonal needs - I have always opted for the 3yr licences during card renewal and wasn't aware that one now has to remain content with an e-license only.

It is a pain, in BC, it is a printout now as well. Upside is you can print another licence out online if you lose/forget. Used to have to pay a fee and do paper work, from 09:00 until 16:30 Monday through Friday only. With any luck Ontario will have added that feature to it's programme.

If you have a expired outdoors card, and have renewed it then you will get a new outdoor card in the mail.

Outdoors card is good. I got my games / outdoors card off sync and now trying to just get the one year renewal so they all match up with the same expiry.

this what was I was expecting in the mail.

Guess I will just carry the paper.. maybe laminate it so it doesn't get ruined as easy I guess. Still have valid OD card.

Thanks everyone.

super easy, ziplock freezer bags!

one for your paperwork, one for a safety kit, one for extra ammo.

fill-throw in backback-forget about them and go hunt.

You've lost me. What do you get for a license other than your outdoors card, for fishing and small game? I renewed my Outdoors Card, paid for fishing and small game. When I received my card, it indicates Sport Fishing and Small Game right on it. The printout I got online indicated 'Temporary Outdoors Card.'

What kind of paper license do you get for fishing or small game in Ontario?

That is because you paid for those licenses for three years (the life of your card)..... for those that don't want to pay for all 3 years up front, you can buy your licenses each year (good for one year) online..... In which case you have to print out your license on printer paper and carry it with you...... Along with your outdoors card...

Oohh. Gottcha. Guess it's a good incentive to pay for the 3 years.

always get the 3 year licenses myself. I don't even hunt or fish really, but if I ever do, there is no way I'd remember a piece of paper.
