Sorry If this is a no-no request, but would anyone be interested to possibly give me a hand on quickload or something similar to estimate a powder charge at a given pressure? If you are willing and/or able I'd really appreciate the help.

Saami max for .280AI is 65K. My book "max" for 140gr with H4350 shows pressure of only 61K.

OP, there's some load data found by searching 280ai in this section.
Always start low and work up, watching for signs of pressure. Load data from manuals, other people or QL will not be at the same pressures as they are in your specific rifle.
Good luck

This chart is built with a start pressure adjusted to 9,956psi, which simulates a bullet jump of .030" off the lands. The QL default is 3625psi, which is unrealistic and will result in predicted powder charges that are higher than what will be attainable in the real world

Code:
Cartridge : .[B]280 Ack Imp[/B]
Bullet : .284, [B]140, Nosler AccuBond[/B] 59992
Useable Case Capaci: 65.755 grain H2O = 4.269 cm³
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 3.340 inch = 84.84 mm
Barrel Length : 24.0 inch = 609.6 mm

Predicted Data for Indicated Charges of the Following Powders.
[B]Matching Maximum Pressure: 65000 psi[/B], or 448 MPa
or a maximum loading ratio or filling of 104 %
These calculations refer to your specified settings in QuickLOAD 'Cartridge Dimensions' window.
C A U T I O N : any load listed can result in a powder charge that falls below minimum suggested
loads or exceeds maximum suggested loads as presented in current handloading manuals. Understand
that all of the listed powders can be unsuitable for the given combination of cartridge, bullet
and gun. Actual load order can vary, depending upon lot-to-lot powder and component variations.
USE ONLY FOR COMPARISON !

112 loads produced a Loading Ratio below user-defined minimum of 80%. These powders have been skipped.

As you can see, H4350 is about as slow velocity of a powder as you can go with in the 280AI

Hi Todbartell

Quick question about the start pressure adjustment. 10,826 is for a full jam according to manufacturers which is 3626 plus 7200 upsize, 3626 is for a full jump which is the default. When does the 9956 for a .030" jump become the full lower pressure jump default number?

subtract 145 psi for every .005" off the lands (145 x 6 = 870). 10,826 - 870 = 9956

Thanks again. appreciate it. I like the Quickload program and find it fairly accurate with my match rifles. At least it cuts down dramatically on the testing I need to do.
