Quiet way to clean brass

used coffee can, aerosol can of mass air flow cleaner and the great out doors............takes the carbon off the necks faster then you can say "hey what is that stuff in the can???"

I was thinking carb cleaner would work wonders, but was hesitant to try it. I have 3-4 bottle of it still from when I owned my 84 chev 3/4ton truck.

carb cleaner and brake cleaner are to harsh I would think, mass air flow sensor cleaner is safe on plastic and dries fast with no residue.....that is why I tried it......and wow.....effortless

Prior to buying a harbour freight, I had a very silent method, lol.

Sink, hot water, vinegar, salt and dish soap. Soak, scrub with nylon neck brush, oven at 200 C to dry.... If you have lots of time, it's quiet and cheap... Certainly not very efficient.

Is that 200 C or F ?

I have a Tumblers tumbler "Rebel 17" and it has a very thick rubber liner that deadens the sound very well and a quiet motor..
If it's metal only it can get noisy with the shells clanging around.

I have the model B, I place my on a thick folded towel quiets it right down. Yes it is rubber lined, the towel further deadens the sound so you cant hear it in the next room

Good idea ..mines is in the garage so no worrys.

I periodically run mine in the living room for a few hours when I go out grocery shopping. None of my neighbors have griped about it yet.

Brake-kleen won't break down carbon, carb cleaner should be safe on most plastics and rubber...

Got me curious on how Seafoam would work...

Fine steel wool and elbow grease. Ultrasonic cleaners are quiet if your looking for a quicker way of doing it. Or just soak your brass in some citric acid and rinse afterwards.
