i was at the range the other day, put about 120 rounds through my 30-06 r700 sps. ive been using 180 gr federal premium and remington core loc ammo. to me they both shoot the same with the same level of accuracy. without a rear bag and using an old ammo box as one i was able to post about a 1.25-1.5 inch group at 200 yards. so in moa talk i think thats roughly 3/4 moa at 200y. anyways, i was talking to the fella who works at the range and we got to talking about bullet weight etc, because i had some 150 gr privi ammo i bought to try a while back and hadnt tried it yet. he said with the factory twist rate of my barrel id likely shoot better groups with a 168 gr bullet. i didnt have any to try out and didnt have time to go buy some and try it. im not sure what my twist rate is, its whatever the folks at remington put in there. also he was suggesting the privi ammo. ive only ever seen it sold there but he talked highly of it, said it shoots alot more accurately through this rifle in .308 than any other factory loaded ammo did. ill try a box of it next time im out there. just thought id ask some opinions from those who have done it
