Rabbit hunting

Hahahahahaha! I was going to say the same thing . Pretty sure I still have some old Trebark gloves and gaiters kicking around somewhere.

Hey now..... I resemble that remark.... Hunted my first turkey season sporting it because it was all I had at the time....

Present conditions for rabbit hunting totally s@ck in NE Alberta.
The early spring occasional light snowfall along with the day time thaw and freezing at night, leaving a hard snow surface crust making a ground sneak all but impossible.
Critters hear one's foot approach from forever.

This has been the norm' for my last four walkabouts in the dense boreal woods.

oh well....

I would be glad if you can PM your recipe. I'll send you mine, if you like.

Sorry, I haven't been around here much. I wasn't ignoring you.

Mine is based on this recipe: ht tp://food.ninemsn.com.au/recipes/imushroom/8301734/rabbit-and-wild-mushroom-pies (remove the space in ht tp)

I only did the small pies in separate ramekins once, for a dinner party. It was nice, but not worth the effort in my opinion. I just make one large pie with homemade crust or if I am lazy I use a 2 Tenderflakes (one for the lid).

So basically I make the filling according to the recipe and then do what I feel like to make it into an actual pie. Oh, and I use homemade hare stock instead of chicken stock, and I use a whole carrot and a whole leek, not half.
