Hey all I can't find my hunting regs and the mnr sites pdf files and my blackberry aren't cooperating. Can some one plz tell me the dates of open season for bunnies and squirrels in wmu 92-93-94. Thanks

squirrels in 92 is sept 25 - dec 15
in 93 and 94 its oct 31-nov 7 (wow thats short)

bunnies in 92 is oct 17 to last day of feb
in 93 and 94 its oct 31 to last day of feb

Thank you. I know my areas season is so short and there's so many of the tasty tree rats around to. No ducks flying so I gunna spend tomorrow deer scouting and squirrel hunting. Thanks for the info

Yes that is true, red ones need to be trapped. Either way I prefer eating bunnies than squirrel if given the choice.

From the Manitoba Trappers guide:

"When a squirrel is harvested, other than by snaring or shooting, a kill-type trap should be used."

I could be wrong but I always thought it was fine to harvest them by shooting, it just had to be done under the authority of a trapping licence.

Does anyone know about squirrels in NB? I don't ever remember hearing anything about a season for them here

TBP12345, I think you are correct. By trapped, I know I meant under a trappers license and I'll assume the other poster did as well.

Yes, I think you're correct there. In other jurisdictions they have started calling them furharvester's licences for good reason.
