rabbit shot size?

Need help, not sure what shot size to use for rabbits.

Never having shot rabbits for table fare I am going by memory .
The old Imperial shells used to recommend 5 shot for rabbits....
Or you can use a .22 and head shoot them .

The rabbits I've hunted are huge, we all MUST use 3" BB's in our hunting party

i hunt a lot of bunnys and us 5 opr 6 s i like to be able to cut brush and shot them on the fly .i hunt with dogs so the bunnys are on the run DUTCH

I use #4s for grouse and rabbits when the local shop has it in stock...if not, then I never go smaller than #6 for rabbits. .22lr is much more effective for rabbits not on the fly though.

I usually use #4 or 5 with a cylinder bore. I've seen everything used from #2's to #8's.

6's , I like Winchesters heavy game load, never had to pick pellets out of the meat, they end up either in the gut or they exit.
