Raccoons!

I recently found out that in BC, Raccoons are "protected" as are many other annoying wild animals . You can be charged for interfering with them.
Also read the story of the Manitoba woman who was fined and sent to court for harassing a Canada goose she was trying to avoid.
They are vermin.
Regardless of what some stupid law says, kill them.
I always have, always will.

I got about 6 tearing up my yard every morning around 5am, was thinking live traps and relocating as i dont live in the sticks
I live in BC. Had raccoons in my yard. I went to buy a trap and met a Conservation Officer in the store who told me that it was illegal to relocate raccoons. If you trap them your only choice is to kill them. You may as well shoot them right off.

Here in Winnipeg, the Poulins exterminator person I hired, told me that they had to euthenize the racoons they caught, and that it would cost me $100 or more per raccoon they caught, on top of the fee for them supplying and monitoring the trap. They caught none after a week, so I dropped their service and bought my own traps, both live and conibear. I didn't catch it either. Too much natural food available for a raccoon to be desperate enough to enter the trap for cat food, marshmellows, suet, sardines and whatever else I tried. I drove it out of my attic with a Sony sound bar, playing the rock channel, and a Casio keyboard playing Rick Astley. Just about drove me out of the house. I suspect it was the 80's pop music that finally did them in.

If they are tearing up your lawn then you may have grubs and it will keep attracting them. I had this problem a few years back, getting rid of the racoons was easy one I dealt with the grubs, which was a whole other problem on its on.

I thought a live trap was a good business opportunity. Who doesn’t have a ####ty ex or boss to get back at? No customers. Went back to shooting.

Edit. I’m obviously joking. If you put a coon in a ex’s car or house, leave my damn name out of it.

There is more then one reason people used to wear coonskin hats.... come out to investigate a noise wearing a coonskin hat and they might think twice about coming back..... :)

The first step in any animal intrusions is to remove any man made"habitat" and other attractants..... after that, "It's on!"

Marshmellows - they can't resist them. Mini ones stuck on the trigger plate and some in a tuna can zip tied to the back of the trap and a trail of them leading to the trap. CCI quiet and into the green bin. Sixty-eight in the past three and a half years.
