Im thinking about trying some of this stuff out, read some good reviews on the net about it. My question is has anyone tried it? What they thought of it and also where do you buy it? Cant seem to find anything on the net? Im just outside Ottawa if that helps.

Thanks for any help!

Its basically rackstackers mix of different clovers, turnips etc. They claim its for small plots in the bush which is what I want to have. Ive read really good things about it on online forums, have seen the pictures... Just wondering if anyone here has used it and how to get a hold of a few bags to plant.

I was originally just going to mix my own up at a feed store, put different clovers etc. in the mix but my buddy that farms told me that the rackstacker is the better way of going just because of the cost.

Isn't that company based in the Ottawa area? I seem to remember reading posts on hunting boards when he was just starting up. Arnprior rings a bell. Maybe email them and see if you can pick up some info and a sample?

Oh the soil will be prepared to a certain extent, not going to just go and throw this stuff down onto the ground. I plan on clearing it and preparing it, no its not going to be a farm field by any means, more like a large garden lol... BigV, not to sure, I tried getting on there website earlier and it wasnt working. I know i have bought some of there mineral licks at crappy tire (couldnt pass it up, they were on sale and the gf bought them for me lol)

Yeah, I can't imagine it would be that terrible of stuff if you are planning to prepare the ground. Just have a look at what seed types are in it. If it has a lot of perennials in it then you may get into the need for mowing to keep it attractive. Just depends on what your goals are. If you can spray some round-up a couple of weeks ahead of time that will help you out getting it started. I've planted the sweet success product from rackstacker and was very happy with it - if your looking for a great fall attractant this is good stuff and you can plant it in late summer

Very unlikely its got any perennials in it. They want you to buy more, after all.

For what its worth, weve had just as good of results with the "deer mixture" from the local co-op. Hell, even the moose like it (theyre feasting on the turnips right now after the snow melted).
