I was wondering if anyone out there could give me some info on the Polish RADOM VIS 35 PISTOL. My father in law has acquired this pistol and wanted to know approx. how much it was worth. If I was to rate the pistol, i would say that's in very good condition +. Now from what i have read, it seems that there is less then 500,000 of these pistols in production. About 200,000 thousand before the war and about 300,000 after. Any help and Info would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully one of you Military history buffs can give me some facts I can bring back to my father in law.

Cheerz :)

Prior to the war (1936-1939) there were about 50,000 produced, not 200,000. These pre-war production VIS wz. 35 (proper designation) have a prominent Polish Eagle on the slide and the year of manufacture. Some people incorrectly assume the later nazi eagle waffenamps as being the Polish Eagle and that is not the case. The 1937 production is the rarest with only about 2,000 having being produced due to a strike at the factory. The pre-war pistols are considered to be one of the best quality pistols of the time and are highly desirable by collectors.

This website will give you more information http://hem.passagen.se/dadkri/Vis35.htm

I know my father in law has the holster for it. And i'm not 100% sure here, but i seem to remember it having the eagle on its slide  .

He told me that when he no longer has the want to hold on to his collection that he will pass it on to me :) For my b-day, he just gave me an Enfiled MK and a Model 94 Winchester:D

Thanks for all the info guys. I will check to make sure that he has the pre-war version. This is all to exciting lol.

I have a Grade 3 Radom Vis 35, made late in the war in Austria. I picked mine up for 300 bucks, but have yet to see any that are below 500.00 here in the US as collector interest is picking up on the late war production pistols. These can sometimes be unsafe to fire, especially if you consider the source of the labor that put these things together (Slave labor).

The Polish ones are worth substantially more, above 2000 US. If you find one, grab it.

I just picked up my Grade 2 yesturday. I paid $150 for it including the original holster and second magazine.

The gun is in beatiful shape with the exception of a deep scratch on one side of the frame. (What a shame)

For being an old gun it sure feels tight and well made.

Does anyone know how the decocker works?

I've shot my Radom a bit... It's accurate enough but the sights are quite rough, extremely challenging to hit the target past 15 yards.

The decocker has a cam that retracts the firing pin. I really don't trust it too far, but having had the gun apart it seems like a reliable system.

Wolff springs sells a Radom spring kit that you might want to look at if considering on doing a lot of shooting. $350-$500 is the range i've seen for wartime (Nazi marked) radoms.

As you can see by my Avator, I wam a fan of the Vis 35... I would like to know if there are dealers in Canada that sell this pistol, or anyone here have one they want to get rid of (pm me). I also wanted to know the market price here in Canada for Grade 1,2, and 3.

For some reason I am still waiting to get accepted into the exchange forum.....

OK, I am in europe right now. I have found out that a family friend has a 1936 vis 35, one of the first made. But here is the thing, I was wondering if anyone on this forum has a Grade 1 and is willing to sell. pm me a message so I know whether to get this one imported or not.
