Well, I made the leap and bought a Samson FF rail system.

Next purchase - rail covers!

I've heard that KAC ones don't always fit other rails. They're too bloody expensive either way...

What are your thoughts? Tango Down? Magpul?

Ladder style? Conventional style?

What's generally considered the best? Who's the worst? What makes a GOOD rail cover?

At this point, I'm even considering getting some *gasp* AIRSOFT ones off of ebay.

I need OD green ones, so if anyone knows of a good source, please let me know!

Have both MagPul and KAC the KAC are by far the best ones on the market .The reason that Knights may not fit is that not all picatiny rails are manufactured to the same exacting specs. try Daves Surplus great people to deal with

I use panels on 3,6 & 9 o'clock rails, and use ladders for the top rail. If you find that the rail is too thick with panels then ladder are great but don't protect the rails as much, the samson feels great using panels IMHO. Oh and I use Magpuls they feel more rubbery than KAC and you don't need to slide them on/off from the end of the rail, the Magpuls are snaped on.

I have always preferred the look and feel of the KAC ones, never liked the price though. YHM now makes a hybrid of the KAC ribs with a TD locking system. go to their website to check them out.

KAC hands down. I was pretty lucky because my rifle-length M5 RAS already came with a full set of panels worth over $200 alone.
