I just saw this on Dlask Arms site.
I am trying to find out the length of the rail right now.

May I ask, why is the lenght so important for you? :)

It was pointed out to me the other day...... so I am not taking credit for this... BUT the DLASK rail looks very similar to the Yankee Hill AR Riser........

Just an observation....

I would wonder if they share the same dimensions

If you look at the pictures in Lectors link to his EE ad, I think you'll see it's as custom design, not a knock off of Yankee Hill. It fits over the front handguard perfectly. That's not coincidence. Also, I think DLASK designed it the proper way; make the mount as low as possible so you don't limit the type of scopes you are able to use. You can solve any other height issues with small medium or high rings and bases. If the mount is built too tall in the first place though, your up the creek....

T97 mounts suffer from this problem (including mine) because the wings of the carry handle negate making the mount any lower, so you have to use the lowest rings, bases and scope you can find to keep the cheek weld reasonable.

Hi guys, I'm the owner of the Tavor in Dlask's website. I held the gun while he took the pics. I hated the Mepro sight so much that I took my gun to Joe and asked him if he can make me a rail to what I wanted. What you see is what I told him to do. He made it a little fancier than what I expected. He is a damn good machinist! The rail is actually 15 cm in length and a custom design. I wanted to put either an Eotech or an Aimpoint on my Tavor. The flip up sight aligns with the red dot on both sights. Right now, I have a Aimpoint Comp M4 on my gun and it's working great. This rail is a good price considering Camam want $299 for theirs. Joe liked it so much he decided make a bunch of them and market it.

The Dlask mount didn't actually fit perfectly. I had to enlarge the slots on the barrel mounts to fit the hardware that Dlask provided (what the Heck, it's only a $3k gun), but I like that it's low and works in co-witness with my aimpoint.

mrsmitty, which rail did you use to mount the SpecterDR?

Clobbersauras, that looks like a nice set of optics, does anyone know what they sell for? But I still think I would like the SpecterDR better; it sounds like the field of view would be similar, but the Elcan has very bright glass and is unbelievably quick to switch between 1-4X with a flick of the left thumb. From the sounds of that link you still have to rotate the ring on the IOR to jump 1-4X. Having only 1 and 4X with no intermediate powers is no real advantage in my eyes - the advantage comes from the speed of jumping between them, and the awsome field of view at 1X.

From what I have read here, it appears that the Spectre may have issues with losing/changing zero when switching between 1x and 4x. It makes me wonder if that is why IOR went to a turn of the ring over a throw lever, but that's a total guess on my part.

That's what I've read as well. An optic that loses zero is useless. The IOR's will be imported by Canada Ammo - from what I've read prices will be below US retails....let hope!

I used the Rail 999 was selling. As for the Spector DR losing zero when switching between 1x and 4x that is BS mine has never lost zero when switching. I have heard early models of this scope though did have issues with mounts and holding zero when switching. But the new ones have been tweeked and are much better. Mind you they might not stand up to "hard" use but for civilian use they are excellent. Besides they are Canadian and we should support our own.

I should add that the IOR optic will likely be priced very competitively, if I know anything about Chris' marketing philosophy. A great deal will depend on the cost of these optics of course ...

For what I believe the difference in price will be, I expect I'll try to get used to turning the ring on the scope rather than pushing a lever. I'm hoping samples will be in soon so we can take a closer look at this optic. Chris has trialled his products at my events before, so maybe I can persuade him to do so once again. :D;)
