I'm thinking about finally ponying up some money to get a railed forend for my M4gery.

Right now, I'm running:
-DPMS lower
-Anchor Harvey upper with a Wilson 14.5" stepped barrel, pinned FSB
-Magpul M93B in OD (on it's way!)
-GG&G flip-up A2 BUIS
-Phantom FH
-Bushnell Holosight
-OD M4 furniture

I'm wondering, what is the opinion of the Yankee Hill rails? Don't THINK I'll need to go with a FF setup, but would eventually like to get a continuous rail from BUIS to front sight tower (Kinda like the ARMS S.I.R setup). Does it NEED to be FF to get this to work?

I'm on a bit of a budget ($300 or less), and it doesn't NEED to be new. I guess that means Larue, KAC, etc. are out of the picture!

Please post thoughts on what the 'best' options you think are for my 'range use only' AR!

Love it. I bought it back when I was starting out, and it's great. I couldn't justify the cost of an EOTech at the time.

It's just a range queen, so I don't NEED the extra hardening of the EOTech.

Some people on here have had very good reviews and experiences with YHM. From my personal experiences, all of the one's I have seen/installed/used have not been very good (out of spec). However these were all units from years ago, and that issue could very well have been resolved.

May I suggest saving a bit more and getting a quality rail system? Larue, Daniel Defense, Troy, KAC, and Samson all have reputations as quality builders of these types of products and it may be prudent to save a bit longer and get the proper product the first time around, as opposed to having problems down the road and replacing it anyways. My 2 cents.

Well, I'm looking at the Samson Manufacturing stuff, and interested in the MRFS-CXF. I realize I'd need to grind down the FSB, but have no problems doing that!

Anyone have experience with this setup and like to comment? Hoddie? :)

I've got the Vltor FF on mine, it's the one that utilizes the Delta Ring. It was just under $300.00 by the time you add the sh & txs, but it is very light and has a cutout for the front sight.

I got the YH FF carbine rail, no problems with it, nice and solid, never came loose.

It was a whopping $87US from These Guys

I wasn't going to spend $300 on a rail just to put a VG on it.......:)
They have the 2 piece one, $99US.
