I'm looking at getting one for IDPA will the bottom rail effect the division it's in? Will it be legal in ESP? I could not find the answer in the rule book. Thanks guys.

I guess my first question is, why would you want to start with a 2 round disadvantage against other ESP shooters?

Why?

John

you can only do a reload without retention on a slide lock, and by and large most targets need to be engaged with 2 shots. So if you start with 9 in the mag and 1 in the gun you have an even number and when you have to break off targets to reload its when you would normally be doing a transition anyways. Basically on any stage more than 10 rounds it saves you an unnecessary target acquisition

Well IDPA isn't quite that simple but I see what you are saying.

I prefer 10round mags when they are allowed.

I have shot a lot of IDPA and have never seen a match where I could see an advantage to only running 9round mags.

Think I will stick with 10.

Like you, I don't see any advantage in running with less than the maximum number of ready-to-go rounds allowed.
