rails and dimensions ?

will a scope that is listed for standard 7/8" Weaver rail mount work on a mount, which is 1913 mil standard rail ? i am confused after i looked at 1913 rail specs and it looked like its only .835" wide. or 7/8" ( .875" ) refers to something other than width of the rail itself.

"The only difference between the Picatinny rail and the Weaver rail is the size of these slots, although many rail-grabber-mounted accessories can be used on either type of rail. Weaver rails have a slot width of .180", but are not necessarily consistent in the spacing of slot centers. The Picatinny locking slot width is 0.206"(5.2324mm) and the spacing of slot centers is 0.394"(10.0076mm).[1] Because of this, Weaver devices will fit on Picatinny rails, but Picatinny devices will not always fit on Weaver rails.[2]"

i want a POSP scope, which is only produced for weaver style mount. no option for piccy rail, and ARMS18 mount for my m14 only comes with 1913 rail.
