Rain boots for small creeks and rivers?

There're a lot places in rugged BC mountains that you need to cross a small creek or river to get to. The problems is most time there're not a single bridge nearby. Now the rain starts coming down more often. So do you guys think a pair of high rain boots would be a good idea?
 
sure, or some hip waders. They arent expensive and weigh about 4 lbs. worth carrying if you are gonna use them.

Mountains are no place for wet feet.....
 
I have never carried anything, but I also have avoided getting my feet wet most trips. Nothing worse than sitting a slash past dark and shaking like a dog f'kin a football. If you got the room in your pack then by all means, I know my pack is too loaded for them though.
