Rain gear

Lots of hunters disagreed with that stunt, doesn't make UA anti-hunter...

Patrick

You can disagree with it, just like I'm not into long range shooting, but I'm not going to throw long range shooters under the bus. Shooters and hunters need to stick together. UA is a private company and can do whatever the f*** they want, they chose to ditch a hunter because her husband made an ethical shot on a bear, so I chose to ditch their brand because they are spineless and sided with the anti-hunting crowd after minimal pressure from them.

It was more stunt than hunt and I am not bothered by them choosing to do what they did.

Grundens #1, HH #2. HH is perfect for the BC coast mountains as it's lightweight. Ask NolanOsborne on here about rain in the North Coast Rainforest, if it's goretex / non-rubber, it'll saturate and soak you, and never dry out.

I bought my HH suit on your recommendation and have not looked back. Only way I'll hunt in the rain now, light, comfortable, elastic and compact.

It doesn't matter what gear you buy if you don't seek shelter you will get wet. ;)

I prefer TAD gear (google; Triple Aught Design) BUT it all depends how much rain the area you are planing your hunt gets. If you don't see much rain you could get away with Canada Tire rain gear and spend your money on Ammo.

@ scruffee
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Hunters have been killing animals with spears since the dawn of mankind wth?!?!?! To drop his wife over a hunt that a husband did... they need to grow some backbone.

helly Hansen the impertech and als othe fishing rain gear ... another one for it ... goretex will not work on heavy and lasting rain ...and it will days to dry it out ...

still remember the tv crew that i guided in Northern quebec ... one of their sponsor was a goretex made parka and bibs after the 1st day we had to find real rain gear and bring in from different camps for them ... goretex parkas was shown for some footage and never worn on boat or while walking and our weather at that time has nothing to do with the rain in coastal BC ... goretex and blood do not work well too ...

I live on the north coast in bc....I use Taiga triple layer gortex rain gear which is made in Vancouver ....guaranteed to keep you dry.

I've had this rain gear for around 10 years now, I can still hunt all day in pouring rain and be dry at the end of the day.

The only problem with it so far is the gear seems to have shrunk around the mid section over the years.
