Hi
Any experience on this bbl, curious about the 18" STS rifle or intermediate gas , Fluted and standard profile, SPR. Thanks

Btw, was also looking at the White Oaks, considering doing importation via Canadian dealer.

Thank for your feedback, cant decide which of the 18" match or the ultra, fluted / non fluted, and with the WOA if not mistaken I can save $200.00 for 18" fluted.

I can't speak to the 18" barrels but my experience with 2 individual, 16" medium weight Ultramatch barrels has been mediocre to poor. In prior posts, pics of the chamber which I posted show severe machining marks in the chamber which were causing failures to extract and sometimes to chamber. Polishing the chamber has helped cure the problem (and switching to small base dies).

Neither of the two barrels have shown great accuracy (~1.5 MOA max. testing with 10 round groups, 4 bullets from 55 to 75 grains and 4 powders.). The first barrel was replaced by Rainier under their accuracy guarantee however the second shot no better.

Others seem to have had better experiences than mine. I'll add the pictures later if I can find them.

Pls do post some pics, its a mixed reviews and experienced, even at brian emos forums it was not really the bbl to go to, and some of these guys are serious 3 gunners , Its the " Stretch 16" and Nordic 18 same with the JP are more popular.

I have the 18" rifle length DMR profile and it prints sub MOA with PMC X-Tac ammo.

Don't have a borescope and have never looked in the chamber or bore.

See picture added to post#7. There are some cotton threads on the face of the barrel extension. See the concentric rings in the chamber - they left visible marks on extracted brass. These were from production about 2 years ago.

I have a pre sandy hook 20" Ultramatch that shoots amazingly well. I think QC slipped (with many manufacturers, not just Rainier) when the push came to fill demand after Obama said ban a few times. The terrible thing is that there was a glut of parts after the panic buy which forced manufacturers to cut costs to compete which is not helping quality.
