Rainier Arms - May 2015 Orders - On the way!

The Dept. Of State seems to be taking it's sweet effing time to approve licenses for SME exports. It's been more than 90 days since the end of July (when I ordered barrel and BCG, amongst other things)...I would assume the Primary arms stuff is affected as well...

Well I only ordered 2 months ago
So who knows what kind of tomfukery I'm in for,
The lack of a response for days after bumping this thread is a bit annoying
But I feel like I'm in for even more annoyance on this order,

Maybe ctcsupplies should edit their pre order page for new buyers

NO one expects a half year on a pre order
And dealers that do this are shady

Hoplitetacticalsupplies is a good example

Not comparing you to them or anything ctct
All I'm saying is an explanation for everyone with a little more detail than " it's in the dept hands" that would be great and appreciated and good cs

Well I don't have thousands of $$$ tied up, just waiting on one Primary Arms optic myself, but it feels like CTCS didn't have their ducks all in a row over the time required for order fulfillment. I understand that there is nothing they can do to speed up various American departments, but knowing that now, there should be a change to the verbiage on the website regarding wait times. If there is no chance of fulfilling orders requiring approval from the Dept. of Commerce et al. in a reasonable time frame, then there needs to be some action on CTCS' part to make it right. I'm sure that even if they had to give out refunds, once the parts do arrive they could easily sell them in-stock, perhaps at an even higher price, given the trouble gone through to get them at all.

Dept of Commerce is completely separate from Dept of State for processing items.

None of us expected a 6 month (and still waiting) for the licensing for the Primary Arms optics. Not us, not Rainier.

We also are having a problem with Rainier selling out of inventory of products that we are waiting for ITAR licensing. This is an issue with Rainier and ourselves - it does happen, but this is a communications thing. Sorry about this.

If any customer would like a full refund for their PA optic pre-order - all they have to do is email us.

At this time - this is our expected wait time from Rainier Pre Orders

IN STOCK - Non-Significant Military Equipment (handguards, brakes, internal parts, stocks, etc) - 30 days or less

Significant Military Equipment (barrels, uppers, bolt carrier groups) - 90 days or MORE

Primary Arms Optics - UNKNOWN

Complaining about it on CGN isn't going to help since I only check in every few days. If you want a answer all you have to do is email us at info@canadiantacticalcowboy.com and we try to get back to you within 24 hours.

Does this apply for SME as well? I ordered a 18" Rainier SPR barrel along with one of their NiB BCG and they're both currently sold out...

Well I'm just going to assume Christmas delivery went out the window

Future buyers
Use this as an FYI before you consider buying
Expect a lonnnnnng haul

Well apparently another importer has thr exact same problem with the state dept. Their permit (s) been delayed couple times. And its been a year since i ordered a bcg from them...still waiting.

I think ctc should post updates in this thread every month at MINIMUM
even if its a haven't herd anything.

its just good customer service to do so

I have always received an update when I contacted them via email. I just figured maybe we could get an update on the forums to save them answering the same question multiple times.

Made another order......we shall see how long this one takes however I did make it on the last day of the month after business closing hours due to the time difference between Vancouver and where I currently am in the Netherlands so I do not expect to make it on the previous months order.

It's a really good service and Rainier Arms offers a lot of hard to get items for Canadian firearm owners.

It's been 4 months since I placed my order for the two in stock Faxon barrels. Any update?

I just asked about my barrels and was previously told they were going to talk to ranier at shot
So I waited a few weeks and emailed again
This is the response I recived about my order that is now well over 4 months.

"I don't have an answer for you at the moment - I had a good meeting with Rainier last week - but no movement on getting your items north."

Starting to wonder if I will ever see my order..
Part of my order included some Umberella corp products which I was told will never come in and would be "cancelled or dropped from my order which I havent been refunded or updated on the rest of the products in my order

Okay - obviously there are some problems with our import process with Rainier - primarily having to deal with SME items (barrels, uppers, bolt carriers, etc)

We apologize profusely for the delay - there's obvious a lot of ##### up on our part on handling these items - mainly dealing with multiple licenses in to State and having the US side hold them to lump them all together.

The other issue is that Rainier is not pulling items out of inventory and putting them on our shelf while waiting for our license to get approved - Rainier goes out of stock and we're stuck waiting for Rainier to get replenished from their distributor. This is the conversation I had with Rainier last week and we hope to have these issues fixed - but this may not be resolved for a few more months.

I agree the wait is unacceptable. If you want a refund for your pre-order item please email me and I will process it.

Good News - those who are waiting for their Primary Arms optics - we should be getting them on Feb 8th.

soo, I was doing some CGN reading and came across this:

TRG has some good advice but I have to say that before you buy a Rainier, take a look at the reaming of the chamber in the extension. My Ultramatch barrel as well as its replacement both look like they were reamed with a Dremel and required polishing before rounds would extract reliably. The barrel has not been a great bench performer (went though load development with 5 powders and 5 bullets at ~1.5 MOA best average group) but is more than adequate for run-and-gun which is how I primarily use it.

See a picture of the chamber below. The original barrel as well as the warranty replacement were of similar quality. Fired brass had visible striations (fine lines) around the circumference.

Now my question now is, what is your warranty policy on these barrels?
If I have to go through Rainer itself to remedy a problem such as this I might as well cancel my order. Seeing how getting one here is harder than finding a chupacobra at night.

so what will CTCS do if my barrel needs to be replaced?
