I have just under 2lbs of this. It's not coating well for me on the first coat. Dont want too throw it out if anyone wants it to try out. It's free just cover shipping PM me. You might have better luck or a system that works better.
/I know this should be in the EE , but I figured it's a give away and a very niche thing that will get lost in the EE

Just curious as to your "not coating well" comment. Is it flaking off or splotchy covering but sticking well?

Might just be a humidity issue on the day you tried it. regardless 2 lbs is a lot of powder and even if it works good I would offer up a pound for someone else...a pound of powder will do most folks 2 lifetimes of coating slugs .LOL

OOOOps, I think I have about 18lbs sitting at home :)

It has other uses

The humidity is what i first thought of as well. So I went back to the other powders I had on hand.
It's Splotchy but sticking well. I used tool blue and gray the same day and got normal results? Shake n bake with pre heated bullets , stood on silicone backing sheet for 15 mins

Just out of curiousity what colour is the powder?

I have found that certain colours inherently have poorer adhesion than others. For me Tool Blue, Gloss Black and Clear all coat like a champ with near 100% coverage using the preheat and plastic container swirl method.

On the other hand I can't get lime green to stick worth a cr@p. I've tried preheat & swirl, swirl with airsoft BBs, plastic container inside a vibratory tumbler, nothing gives me even 50% coverage. Changing alloys didn't help either. Red is a little better (maybe 70-80%) but still nowhere as good as the blue, black & clear.

I am sure that an electrostatic powder coating gun system would work with any powder but the shake & bake method only seems satisfactory with some powders. I suspect it's the different pigments in the powder that account for the varying degrees of adhesion since I have tried blues from different companies and both worked fine.

Phantom Gloss Black is the only "manly" color I have found that works well. I just swirl in an ice cream pail and cook them myself, preheating produces a thicker coat but I have never needed it.

Have you tried mixing the off white with black to get a grey? i have a white from emerald coatings and it did not adhere well, maybe 60% coverage. I then mixed it with gloss black and now it's 100% coverage and super glossy. Shoots amazing.

It's an off white cream color.
I've read so many articles on powder coating I could be wrong here but I seem to recall that people trying whites and yellows typically were getting blotchy, inconsistent coverage with them. I'm guessing that an off white cream colour would fall into that category.

As Helka has noted, mixing it with colour that has good proven adhesion like a Tool Blue or Gloss Black should improve the coverage and make it usable.

White works just fine

Thanks I'll give that a shot before getting rid of it.
