I am looking into the Ram-Line synthetic stock for my long action Stevens 200 in 30-06 with blind magazine. Noticed that Cabelas Canada has some designed for "SavageE/G long action" in stock for $129. Will that be a drop in fit? Does anybody have any experience on it? I know most people went for Boyd or Bell & Carlson, but I guess making payment & picking up the stock in the states would be a hassle. Any suggestions? Thanks...

They don't look like an upgrade to me and are probably as flimsy as the original Stevens stock. I'd try to get a laminate wood stock. They are the stiffest and most stable for the price. After that, its expensive glass or kevlar reinforced synthetics. Even a well clearanced and sealed wood stock would be an upgrade over the original plastic stock.

I picked up a Ramline stock for my M96 Swede last week and it is anything but flimsy. The thing is a boat anchor and weighed significantly more than the wood stock on it now. I wouldn't say it is an upgrade, though. Just not flimsy.
