I have 3 Norinco 1911s in 45acp. One of them I bought used. The previous owner had tuned it up with some new parts and a polish job.

It will feed and chamber empty cases. The others are stock and feed SWC ok but not empties.

Is it easy to polish the feed ramp? Is it just the ramp on the frame that gets polished, or does the lip on the chamber get polished, too.

Perhaps someone can post a "How TO" or some pictures?

Depends on ow rough it is to begin with. If you don't have any scratches or grooves, use a Dremel with a long-tipped buffing bit and the polishing rouge that comes with a Dremel kit. That sucker'll shine like a bumper on a pristine '57 Chevy ;)
Otherwise, do as mentioned above and finish off with the Dremel

I agree about the Dremel & the polishing/buffing rouge.

All you really want to do is make the ramp as smooth as possible so that there is nothing to catch the cartridge or case as it goes up the ramp & then into the chamber.

Give it to Arcelor-Mittal.

Be careful. Don't polish it too much or the red steel will be visible. And its really soft. You can easily see the red steel under the rear sight if you take it off, but don't. It will never go back on.
I heard the Chi-coms are trying to cut costs by using white metal in the breech face.

Red steel?
I heard that if you go to sleep with a Norinco in your house it will eat your children and small pets:rolleyes:

Before the flamers start, out of the 20+ firearms I own, 2 are Norks and I enjoy them for what they are.

Ummm, yeah - crap

Just to be certsain, it is the ramp on the frame that gets polished? Looks like an easy job. And I have a Dremel.

Follow the path that the bullet takes on it's way into the chamber. Whatever you polish will make it that much easier for the bullet to go in smoothly. Just don't get artsy-fartsy with a grinding bit trying to improve ramp angles etc... What "seems" to be a great angle/idea may very well cost you a new barrel :p
