Close, but off by just a bit. I have 2 molds, both RCBS, a 45-300FN and a 45-405FN. Both are gas check design but I have shot them without the check. I wanted to get a 350 (Lyman Gould type mold) but after a bit of hunting decided against it. The 400 pills are a bit more accurate out to 200 yards but recoil is very stout. The 300's are plenty accurate, out to at least 100 and recoil is far more tolerable. Using the 300's with a milder load, I've never been able to recover a bullet. Perfect performance on deer without the heavy recoil. If I were going for moose I'd opt for the 400. I suppose the 350's would be the best of both worlds but to be honest the way the 300's have performed I'm quite pleased. Both of the molds have a very large, flat meplat. The best molds I've used were LBT's (Veral Smith) but I've heard there are quite a few other good custom molds out there. When you consider how many bullets you can make with them even if they were $200, they'd still be bargains, in my opinion. Best of luck with your choice.
