Hey guys, I just bought a .44mag ranch hand and it's hitting 12" high at 30 yards with the sight bottomed out. I'm needing to either find a higher front post or a lower rear and was wondering if any other guys had this issue and what their solution was. Any sight reccomendations?
Thanks

Steve's Gunz.

I saw Lefty-Canuck's Rossi - sights are GREAT so I picked some up for myself (but I went with the green front Fibre optic).

Mine took 5 minutes to install & I am hitting 6-10" centers at 50 yards on FAST reload and FAST shots. If I slow down and aim - take my time, I am inside 4-5" consistently (and I have the short regular stock). Good enough for me for a bear gun.

I just got one and need some sights too.
For as long as this gun has been available, I can't believe they haven't yet corrected this issue and put proper sights on it from the factory.

For my 44mag Ranch Hand I bought a Marbles 57W front sight (.570" high) and installed. Rossi dovetail is quite oversize so cut neck off 308 case and flattened it out to get the brass for a shim under. Good scissors cut the brass. Less than ideal but the sight seems to be secure and holding firm. Now it hits dead on at 25yds with rear sight elevator on second or third notch up.

I also put a dab of "bright sight" yellow on the new front sight, and hoped to thump a bear with it. But so far no shot opportunity - the good size one I'm hunting went nocturnal and then vacated the area last week it seems. Got some nice tree cam pics of him - late dining of course.
