Great article. Thanks for posting. Most of us keyboard tough guys have no clue as to the hardships and desperation those people must have felt and endured. I had an old uncle who fought in the Boer War at the turn of the last century, plus he fought in the Great War. Four of his children, two boys and two girls, wore uniforms in WWII.

Can you imagine heading out to South Africa in 1899? Seasick all the way over, probably sick from whatever whilst over there, then seasick all the way back?:eek:
