Range day with a 454 Casull

I must be built different than the majority of you here.! I loved shooting my 460 with max loads of H110. Unbelievably accurate revolver but gave it to a friend in a moment of weakness. ONE of my biggest regrets as he turned out to be an AXXHOLE. It was a handfull but cooler than any other hand cannon Id ever fired. 454 pussy haha and 45 colt was a frigin joke. Common boys buckle up, a numb hand for a whiles cool,lol

Well I took out my Freedom Arms 454 for the first time. I was thinking it might be not be too bad, it is a fairly large heavy revolver and I've shot a short barrelled Super Blackhawk 44 which I found manageable. I was shooting Federal Fusion 454 ammo which is actually a little tamer than other brands. But wow did this thing thump and hurt. A couple cylinders was all I could do and I certainly 'perfected' the flinch. I couldn't even go back to 9mm. Clearly I'm getting soft. I'm glad I did not get a shorter barrel length.

Anyway I bought it mainly because I wanted the revolver (not the calibre) and the revolver is a thing of beauty. The tolerances, smoothness and finishing are pretty exceptional and this is the basic field grade, not the premier grade. It came with a scope. Maybe I'll put it back on. That might help add some weight.

First time out with the Anaconda too. That was a 'close-to-last' impulse buy. It is nice, but I still prefer the S&W 29s and 629s.

Such beautiful revolvers. I really don’t understand why this stupid government has banned these innocent beautiful revolvers.

Oh, don't get me wrong, shooting full-house .460 through it is a blast (literally and figuratively), and if I ever need to shoot a bear behind the fridge in my neighbor's house, it'll be full-power .460 every day. .454 is more pleasant if you're running a lot of rounds through it all at once though. Feels nice and mild in comparison.

Its honestly one of the most accurate handguns Ive ever shot and thereve been many in the years since im basically a dino according to the snots on here haha. Not providing Kleenex for all the youngsters. I love all the fudd and other shXt I hear on here. Or boomers or whatever. At least we know what we are and arent afraid to admit it.
