Hey guys,
I'm just getting into the game and have a quick question.
I am looking to join a shooting range, but have heard that you can't shoot certain ammo at certain ranges (ie. surplus 7.62X25, 39 and 54R).
Is that true of most? (I'm in the GTA, looking for somewhere not too far, North East or West)
Obviously with the attractive prices of that ammo that's the direction I am heading, but not sure if thats the best idea?
I guess I'll either have to choose my guns differently, not join a range, or buy non-steel ammo. Am I on the right track?
Your advice is appreciated!

The ranges where I shoot have no such restrictions, but then again I'm not in the GTA.
Just setting aside the ammunition question for a moment, what sort of shooting do you want to do? Plinking? Informal or formal competition?

Just plinking, I really do enjoy shooting and would like to get good but not necessarily interested in competitions.
I do plan on doing quite a bit of shooting in the near future though.

For the most part, ranges that prohibit the use of the surplus ammo are typically indoor ranges and are worried about sparks (fire hazard) and keeping their backstops from getting destroyed. Most outdoor ranges are OK with the surplus ammo you mentioned.
