Keep in mind that the LOP listed is for the AR15/M16.

The LOP will be longer on the AR10 platforms.


Personally I hate the PRS Gen 3 stock. The LOP is longer than on the Gen 2 and in my opinion makes LOP too long on both the AR15 and AR10 rifles.

The LOP listed for the PRS Gen 2 on an AR15/M16 is 13.3" - 14.3". That's a whole inch less than the minimum on the Gen 3.
 
I measured using my fingers yesterday- I was off by an inch. Length from end of buttpad to the trigger is exactly 15" collapsed.

I agree it makes the PRS unmanageable for lots of folks, but for us bigger guys it's great.

Interesting. So a Gen 2 would be closer to 14” give or take? I guess what I really want to know is what would the LOP be with an M16 or A1 length stock.

The Magpul Moe fixed stock might work well on the longer S10 receiver.

I bought one after they told it was NR and now they try to find one somewhere for me, and maybe I will have to pay more for !

but they don't give much details,

My yearly hunting trip starts tomorrow. no stag for me since I ordered a pcf rifle and they still aren't in yet. But.... I bought a marlin SBL and lobbing 405 grains of lead at critters has its attractions
 
Fired 20 rounds of 6.5cm today at 200yrds. 2 stage trigger is a bit too heavy for my liking imo. Wind was gusting 40kms and needed some decent bags or mlok bipod. Shot a 1moa group with Hornady American White Tail 129gr. Primer strikes are cratered over, extractor marks are very evident and bolt was somewhat stuck when extracting a live round. Do not get same over pressure signs in my Tikka Ctr or maybe thats normal in a semi? Anyone recommend a low profile brass catcher?

You can certainly run into pressure differences using the same ammo in a semi. vs. a bolt. Always a good idea to test a variety (not only for accuracy), but to ensure the ammo you're feeding it is not experiencing such signs. The gas system length, gas port diameter, especially in a high pressure cartridge like the 6.5creedmoor can obviously all effect such things, including the firing pin diameter - if you do some further research, you may see that certain AR10 (DPMS pattern) bolts feature a smaller firing pin hole, and corresponding firing pin to mitigate the issues you're describing.

Try a few different brands of ammunition, and see if you experience the same across all of them. Have fun!
 
I can't wait to get my Stag parts in so I can build my 308 rifle. I see you're from West Van. Where do you usually shoot? Maybe we can compare rifles once I have mine completed.
 
I'm now in Burnaby but am down to go shoot once we get some decent weather! I still haven't gotten a chance to shoot it... I usually go up to Squamish to a spot I know.
 
Range report:
Got down to 13/16ths of an inch at just past 100 yards- was shooting uphill, with a slight crosswind. The ammo used was Federal Fusion for zeroing in (got down to an inch grouping, but wasn't trying extremely hard for a tight group, was just trying to get the scope set)

The best grouping was with Hornady Match 147gr- it shot multiple groups under an inch, best one being just a hair over 3/4in. It was shot off a sandbag rest, and I wasn't really paying too close of attention to my shooting technique and I guarantee this rifle could shoot a half inch or better with this factory ammo.

I used the Fusion ammo to do a proper barrel break-in (5 rounds, clean, repeat 5 times then to 10 rounds, clean a few times). I dont know how to upload pics but, I have them and can send via imgur to anyone interested.

Faults:

XCR pistol magazines would not lock in properly and would come loose and detattach with some force. The PMAG had absolutely no issue and locked up tight as can be. Going to see about machining the mags to work properly and will update.
Edit: After modifying the magazines slightly, they work problem free.

Conclusion:

This is a sub-MOA gun, and I believe if you spent time finding the right load, it could be an incredibly accurate rifle.

we should makd it an outing anf both being our stags and some gongs
