Range Report - .45acp

Got out to the Range this weekend with an old friend. Most of the day we were having fun popping balloons at 50yards with the Kimber .45acp and Walther P99 .40sw Didn't shoot any paper so nothing to report there. Did however bring the ruger 10/22 along since the last time I had her out was during grouse season. First things first...That scatter at the top of the target is me testing out my 30 rd mag. I was having failures to feed last time I used it. I kept it fully loaded for about 6 months to loosen the spring...It seemed to work as I am happy to report no failures this time around. Bottom right is a 10 shot group 1.652" at 25 yards. Not terrible considering Iron sights and walmart special "beer bottle buster" ammo. I'm thinking about putting a scope on the ruger 10/22...any suggestions? My reasoning is I will be able to get tighter groups, and am pretty much assured head shots on the Grouse come hunting season.
