I mounted my Alberta Tactical Rifle AR-15 upper onto my homemade lower for a range report.

I wanted this to be a serious, factual, boring range report, but the wife was having too much fun with the video camera, so I went along.

It was the first time she ever shot past 100 metres. She had never fired an AR-15 outside before either. I love her so I let the camera roll and turned a clinical range report into a diluted range session.

There is a lot of banter, but there is a lot of good info as well.

I posted our best groups at 100, 300 and 500 metres.

Nice work! Looks like a lot of fun. I hope to get my AR out to 500 Metres someday too!! (shrug: but for now my range is only out to 300)

Great video. I have to admit though, I've never seen a front rest used like that before...:p.

I know!

We were trying to get the best groups possible. We are not great shots, so we tried everything.

My favorite rifle for the past 25+ years has been the AR-15. I still can't figure out how to "bench" it properly (the cant is terrible, plus my trigger pull is atrocious). The bi-pod out front and the front rest out back seems ro work.

Mother of necessity kicked in, and it worked. Flashback to my childhood.

Nice shooting, and great that the wife is into it as well.
I didn't see the info if it was on the vid, but what scope and ammo were you using?

And any reason for just 3 round groups?

In Calgary, if you replaced your windshield for a little crack like that, you would be replaceing alot of windshields.:)

The funny thing is, the upper reciever had no corners cut on the build. It's a balls out Alberta Tactical Rifle build.

The scope is a cheap 15X Super Sniper. It's not a bad scope, but I use it for all my load develment. Once I settle on a load I will mount my ACOG on it.

The three shot groups were a result of only having 50 rounds loaded. FYI some of the groups were 4 and 5 shots.
