Range Report Tanfoglio Model "L" Blued Version

Discovered Conversion kits are made for this gun in different calibers. I have written Freedom Arms to enquire about the price of .22LR kits as well as .45acp. Would be rather neat if one could shoot another center fire round using the same frame. The .22LR kit would allow for more practice at less cost.

Well I crossed 1,000 rds of FMj this week with absolutely no problems at all. D/A trigger pull remains "a pull" but has improved significantly since new. Need to order light mainspring from Wolf and get Dlask to do a trigger job for me. Contacted Tanfoglio and they indeed do make light hammer springs for the gun so I am ordering a set of lighter springs from Wolff.
Switched to lead boolits and got a surprise. When sized to .355 boolits tumbled at 10 yards, with no accuracy. After getting some sound advice from friends Stateside I sized 50 boolits to .357. Problem solved! From a rest I put five inside a quarter from a rest with no tumbling. Gun is a shooter and with a trigger job will be outstanding for IPSC/IDPA.
Ordered a Blade Tech Holster. Asked them to use the Witness as a guide and just add 8MM of material or open the bottom of the holster a bit. Should make a great combo for playing the games.

FWIW, you cannot do a proper trigger job and still be production legal. The only thing you can do is take the trigger assembly apart and polish all the internal parts (mirror finsih). I would then change the mainspring to a lighter one.

but the risk of being bumped to open is there. as for a trigger job, I'd recommend Armco, nothing against Dlask, but Gunnar shoots a CZ and knows where to draw the line on a legal trigger job.
I shoot IPSC for fun. Beginning to think it is more like women's golf then a shooting sport. A spring is a spring and at 61 Eric and the CZ team have little to worry about. Gunnar is great but is very busy this time of the year. I doubt he would have time to do the work. D/A trigger is getting better with each passing session. S/A is so sweet, reminds me of my tuned Norinco.

Just received my Blade-Tech kydex holster for my Model "L". It is the SRB IDPA Approved holster. The holster fit isdescribed as the EAA Witness Elite Match which is the equivalent frame size and barrel length. This holster is great! I also got the injected molded double pouch for IDPA.
If you own a Model "L" and want a very good holster in Kydex, particularily for competing in IDPA/IPSC this holster will do the job. You can also get a belt attachement that takes the holster away from your body for purely IPSC work.
Delivery time from the factory is about six weeks but well worth the wait.

Should add my gun has now just over 4,000 rounds through it - Lead truncated 125 gr over 4 gr Unique. Not a FTF of any kind. Trigger pull has come down some.

Blade Tech makes a great product! I have a DOH for the 34/35 Glock and the injection molded Glock holster and mag pouch with the Tek lok which only cost me $34 US shipped for both holster and pouch. I prefer their Kydex product but the injection molded works well.

I agree, I had a very early CZ75 in 9mm. Worked great [very accurate] with 125 gr JHP's that were .357 sized [bullets were mfg for use in .38 Spl./.357 Mag ctgs]... Not so accurate using .355 sized bullets designed for the 9mm.
