So after building my new M-14 myself (thanks for the help GG&FB) I needed a range report. I'm really not a very good shot so the first few trips were somewhat pathetic. Definitely not going up on the board here. Finally, however, something I can if not be proud of, at least not be embarrassed about. So, the first target is iron sights at 100 yards. Still figuring out how low I need to shoot on the paper, but the grouping is getting respectable.
Second, GG&FB (who is the greatest guy in the world (he said I had to say that)) loaned me his new Eotech Holographic Sight. It is pretty darn cool.
Time back to target it insanely fast (although I'm trying not to let that affect how quickly I pull the trigger. The only problem I can see with it is that you have to raise your head to see through it. If it were mine (remember my birthday GG&FB) I would probably want to get a cheekpiece to use with it. Anyway, here is the target with the Eotech.
Still getting it sighted in, compounded by the fact that I don't have a spotting scope anymore (not sure what happened there) and had to walk 100 yards every five shots to see where I should adjust the sights. Oh well. It was fun anyway. 31 degrees Fahrenheit here and I didn't even notice I was having so much fun.
