Finally got a chance to head out and play with the Marauder. What a hoot. Handled great with a feel of a full scale rifle.

Eventually, all owners will bump into the issue of feeding and the new mags so I will just give you a few quick thoughts. No break in was done on a new 10/22. Just loaded and pull the trigger.

Ammo of course is paramount to success and not all ammo will feed so I brought out several to test.

Bulk Fed HP from Wallyland worked the best.
Win 333 was a close second
Blaser had a couple of hiccups on a fresh mag but once going, it seemed to have few issues.

Americal Eagle 38gr HP was a dud. The rifle simply didn't like this and failure to feeds were pretty much the norm.

No mods were made to the mag and I think the mag has a couple of 'bumps' that should be left in place.

My initial feeling was big bump, grind it off but it looked like someone took the time to mold it in place so I left it alone. Didn't seem to cause any problems and I am thinking it acts as a kind of ramp.

The spring wire on the side also caused a few ??? but seemed to not hinder the running of the mag. When it sits between rds, it lefts the top bullet which is likely needed to get a good start at the chamber.

I didn't do too much 'gunning but aimed semi fire with the ammo it liked ran fine.

I tried a few grip positions AND did find a way to hang up the rig. Hang onto the mag and things can start to stall. The mags seems to move to a natural position for proper functioning and my holding it may have put the feed ramps in a less then ideal position.

Mag went in and out slick and locked up solidly.

I continue to be impressed with the folding stock. Solid if not a big short in length of pull. Some full scale rifle makers should take note.

I shot the Marauder with open sights and actually really liked them.
TIP: the windage screw is backwards as you a moving the sight on a thread as opposed to pushing it in a slot.

The big hole real sight was so easy to use and that big post was almost as handy as a dot sight. The post was still in pretty decent focus with the target lined up - nice. Will eventually put a dot on it but for now, it is one of the best open sights I have used for CQB fun - way better then the 'real' stuff I have on my M4

Fitting the kit together was also quick and straightforward but certainly more involved then the Archangel kit as you need to swap in the mag and bolt release. Both work slick.

The sizing on the receiver the chassis was tight and took mild motivation to assemble but I think that will pay dividends for consistent accuracy. Push the rear of the receiver into the back of the chassis before attempting to get the front in. Otherwise, the receiver doesn't want to sink into the stock.

More kits will be here in the not too distant future and I will continue to work through my preorder list.

Thanks for all that have picked up a stock and I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am.

Vertical grips from 3 manf are available too.

Enjoy...

Jerry
