pops 7600 preformed terrible 2 moa at its best . might have to play with it. how do you check the bullet to lands since your slamming the pump closed anyways??
just guess???

You know, The Hornady reloading book gives a C.O.L. of 3.210 for the Hornady #2730sp. I gave it 3.220 to start , and it chambered. Tried it and it works, may try longer oal. Ya with a bolt action it a little different and easier, but must try different stuff, different powder, bullets, primer etc. But when it comes together BINGO! It works!

Wow, is right! To rifle and load. That's better grouping than several .270 bolt actions I've owned...

If it is repeatable, ie, you can shoot that group or similiar three or four more times; you have your load. Well done!!:D

I had a 7600 in 243, shot decent groups...but blew the heads off cases after two shoots (1st - virgin brass, 2nd - reload to same moderate specs).

I miss the action, but not the aggravation. I'm envious now. :p

Very nice shooting!
My brother-in-law has an older 760 chambered in 30-06 that shoots the 165 Hornady FB just like that!
58 grains of W760 and that Hornady, and it just keeps right on delivering the goods!
Eagleye.

Got out again today! Increased the powder load .5gr to 54.5gr. It was a little windy today, so hard to tell if it helped?? I think I will stay in the 54gr load.
5 rounds at 100yds. What do you think?

Most excellent but leaving the node. Now get out to 200m and play with that 54 gr load ..2 up and .2 down. You may find things starting to happen at distance. It sure is cool to nail the bulseye so many times. Great shooting.
Elky...

My father has a 760, circa 1955, in .35 Remington. Last year I shot two three shot groups off a bench with 200 grain Remington factory loads that could easily be covered by a loonie. Not bad for a 55 year old rifle with an old post and crosshair 4x Redfield. They shoot as well as a lot of bolt guns in my experience.
