Range time with the 180-C

Seriously? I knew you'd have to wait a bit, but almost 2 years? I'm still super interested in this rifle, but that is a letdown if true...

Kodiak's goal is to produce 100 a week when all the supply "bugs" are worked out, in which case in approx. 9 months all orders will be filled. Not sure if the liberals will give us 9 months but we will try. There will probable come a point fairly soon when new orders will see a price increase.

Ok cool thanks. That's a much more agreeable timeline.

Great video, thanks for that! Pretty impressive that rifle ran over 5K rounds without cleaning and field stripping.

I did field strip and check for wear at 350 or every 1000 rds. Always added oil, topped up to the dipstick mark :) every 350 rds but no detailed cleaning until 5000 rds when we changed the upper and fired another approx 3000 rds. The lower remained all original until we machined a recess for the upper reciever stabilizer lug at the 5000 rd. Some minor components were changed durring this endurance and development stage but no majior redesign of any parts were required. We also played around with some different barrels durring this period.

Sounds like you guys are really putting in the effort..... I hope you are proud of the final product!

Another question about the video.

Was that a 16 inch barrel on the demo gun? The one guy sort of gets into it but I wasn't sure if he was referring to the length of the hand guard or the barrel?

The barrel already looks a bit long compared to the handguard so hopefully he was trying to say that the production guns come with a slightly longer hand guard and not a 2 1/2 " longer barrel..... :)

Yea I was wondering about that also.

Yes, the rifle in the video has a 16" barrel. On the production rifle the barrel will be 2 1/2" longer, not the handguard.

I think the video shows what we affectionly call "the dog", she is our original test gun. Yes a medium heavy 16 barrel and not the production hand guards. Look at our recent photos to see what production guns will look like. The "dog" has been abused but still running strong, every so often I would have to cool her in a snow bank so I could keep hold of her, last test run in the spring I had to poor cold water over her every 350 rds. Not recommended treatment but not bad for a commercial rifle.
