While I was tuning up the 35 Whelen yesterday I had to scare a deer off the range.:) I wasn't going to risk shooting down range so I walked down range till she ran off into the bush. I hope she doesn't get poached by some idiot if she comes back to the range.

The last two times at the usually busy Victoria range I had to chase two bucks off the range. They don't seem to mind close gun fire. The Metis assoc. are renting the property this weekend. Perhaps the problem will be solved.

Are they having a bar-be-que after the shoot? :D:D:D

Last summer I had a black bear wander across the back of the range when I was shooting, didn't even seem to notice I was there. Was only shooting the 10/22 though.

A week ago this past Wed. we had just finished shooting handguns, picked up our stuff and started to the clubhouse when I looked to my right and saw two deer about 40 yards crossing parallel to the range toward direction of the backstop. We stopped and watched them watch us, then started to walk on and they turned back the way they had come from.

It was not uncommon for us to stop shooting to let deer cross the range at Ft. Lewis, Washington. Those deer were pretty familiar with gunfire. Regards, Bill.
