Very Windy day today, but thought I'd go and at least get somewhat sighted in, so i went and got this grouping

Well that looks good to me. Approx 1"x 1", well within minute of moose or deer. It is an actually group, the shots are not strung out, so I wouldn't complain about the accuracy of that rifle and load.

Stock hunting rifle? If that's the case then that is a fine 5 shot group.

If you are trying to tighten things up I might humbly suggest moving up a bullet weight. If I read that right you have a 120gr TSX. That's mighty light in most 7s! What kind of rifle btw? What is your barrel twist?

I have a feeling my next rifle will be a 280 of some kind so I'm curious.

Yes all stock, Rifle is a Cooper Excaliber, still getting used to it and waiting for a calm and sunny day, and that isn't happening lately. Thanks.

i have yet to shoot game with the 120tsx but my 280 cooper excalibre loves them too. mind you my cooper has no real dislikes its easy to load for. i found by loading the tsx a little shorter than normal the acuacey improves.

Well gave her another 1/2 grain of powder. here is what I got. I have to say I really don't like the trigger on this rifle!? It just seems to fat ( wide)? But I do know it's me, I know the rifle can do better than I can shoot.

Looking very good. Sierra suggests your load at about 2900 fps.
I went to the 140 grain TTSX and 59.0 grains of IMR7828SSC. I set out to attain 3000 fps and exceeded that.
Previous load was 160 grain Speer MagTip but I wanted to flatten out my load when the Leupold VX-6 2-12 x 42 found a home and I just ordered the CDS.
