Ok, so it isn't really "new" and I bought it off the EE a few months back but this was my first real chance to get this rifle sighted in and some rounds through it without my little range rats bugging me every two minutes to reload mags for them.
The rifle is a VLTOR upper with a Kreiger 18" 1/7.7 twist barrel chambered in .233 Wylde and a full length gas system on a Stag lower with a Geissele two stage trigger.
The optic is a Leupold Mk 4 3x9-36 MR/T
The rifle was assembled by TacOrd and as far as I know was only test fired by them. I had put 20 rounds through it prior to this trip getting it on paper.
It took me a bit to get it sighted in but once I did I was quite pleased. I have to admit this is my first time actually shooting for groups other than at Longshot's SR course and that was with an AR with open sights. Generally I just get my rifles sighted in and then blast away. I shot 60 rounds, the rifle functioned perfectly and the trigger is awesome.
Since I read somewhere that only 10 shot groups count
so I posted the last couple of groups I shot off the bi-pod before I ran out of time. If I get a mulligan on the one shot I pulled, both groups measure 1.77". I know some of you guys are excellent shots so go easy on me but I was pretty happy with the results considering it was with cheap AE 55gr and in my inexperienced hands. I think a rear rest would also help to get a true idea of how accurate it can be.
I'm very excited to get back out again with a selection of quality ammo. This rifle was a lot of fun to shoot and I think I can do better. Different targets would make things easier too. Regardless, I have a feeling I will be spending a lot more quality range time with this rifle.
Please excuse the cell phone pics, my wife had our camera hidden somewhere.
