Rangefinder recommendations

I'm in the market for a rangefinder as my old hand me down isn't keeping up with the distances I want to shoot at anymore. I've got a budget of 300-500 dollars and it needs to tell me ranges in meters. I will use this on everything from bow hunting, to coyote and elk hunting, to dinging a steel gong at 1000m. That's a lot to ask in that price range so emphasis on yote and elk hunting out to 600m.

My buddy just found a Sig Kilo 2000 on ebay for about $500. Worth a look.
