My friend bought a Leica, he was going to give me his Bushnell yardage pro-500, I gave him $100.00. I am glad that I didn't have to pay more. It is bulky, it seems to work Ok, but not comparable to his Leica.
I actually got my Leica off of Gr8FulDoug (sp?) but bought it off him on eBay. Awesome deal - think it was around $425.00 USD shipped and insured. With our exchange the way it is right now I couldn't pass it up.
I have a Swarovski and although it hasn't seen much use yet this year the optics on it are phenomenal. With it being an 8x30 I'll leave my binos in the truck from now on and only pack the rangefnder.
On another website I have read reports of ranging out to 1900+ yards, and although this RF has a tripod mount, it seems quite far to range a cow elk. I'll do extensive testing with it this season and know for myself then.
Yes indeed, the Leica's are a great unit. I really like the simplicity and the uncluttered display. Why is it we need to have 30 additional options when rangefinding is what we use it for 99.9% of the time?!?!
I am curious about the new Leupold's however, though i have never seen one in person.
