Received my new TC ICON 30-06 last week. and bring to range in the weekend. the stock of ICON weigher shield full so good, very smooth, and bolt is smooth too.

Try 1 box of winchest factory ammo, and 30 round of reload ammo.

Refile: TC ICON in 30-06
Scope: Redfield 3-9X40 "Accu-Range)
Ammo: Winchest 165 gr.

Reload ammo:
Bullet: Serria 165 gr, match king. HPBT, 125 gr Game King.
Powder: IMR 4064 (50.50 gr for 165 gr bullet, 55.00gr for 125 gr bullet)
Primer: Winchester large rifle primer
Brass: Hornady brass.

First, I was using factory ammo to sight my scope, 10 round for 50 yard, and another 10 round in 100 yards.

Then, try reloaded ammo. for the 165 gr bullet, very easy to sub-MOA group, for the 125 gr bullet, got about 1.5 - 2 inch group. the reason would be wind, and light bullet not very stable.

Will up load my pics later on.

Is anyone have similar experience about TC ICON?

I've never seen nor handled one, but definitely getting some rave reviews in magazine write ups. Match grade barrel that T/C makes themselves. Capable of very serious groups.

How is it for weight???

I have an Icon in .308 with the ultrawood stock, the test target that came with it says they used Fed. blue box for group so I bought a box and tried it, yes very accurate. Did some loads with Barnes 165 tsx, first group tried came in around 1/2 inch. Kilt two deer last year with this rifle.

Someone else "kilt" about 10 deer in this picture!

The Venture seems to be a heck of a bargain.
I was kinda looking at an ICON with weather shield, but so far all the litrature I read just said the weathershield coating was better than plain stainless...OK but what is the gun made out of ?
Coated stainless or coated Chro-Mo?

Not sure what they are but I did look at one in .308 at a gunstore in St Paul today, price was $845 as well as the Pro-Hunters thay had in stock.
The Venture was lighter and the Icon Classic they had only came in 30-06 ($1100), if it were .308 or .270 i woulda bought it.
