I have a single barrel Ranger shotgun it's a break open action. the markings are Ranger on the receiver and a 4 didget serial number,12ga 30 inch full choke on barrel.
I've googled and searched this forum but I can't find any info on the shotgun.

Anyone have any ideas on the model # or how(if possible) the shotgun comes appart. I'm wanting to remove or at least tighten the front wood stock.
Any info would be great. Thanks in advance

Likely a Cooey/Winchester or derivative of.....pull the forestock away from the barrel. Open the action and remove barrel from receiver. Voila....to tighten the front wood, just slightly straighten the spring loaded locking tab that sits inside the forestock......

pull towards the front?? it seems like something might break. Maybe just years of crap holding it together. I think I'm doing it right but it seems tighter than it should. Nothing seems to want to move besides the action/trigger or the wobbly front grip. Maybe I'll g-96 it and hopefull that will loosen it up.

Post a pic.....you should be able to separate the forestock from the barrel though. Hold gun with barrel pointed up. pull sstock from barrel. The catch that holds it in place is spring loaded....it will feel kinda funny. G96 will not help you there....

it felt very funny, very much like something was going to break but it came appart with a mighty pull. A loose wobbly forstock and a hard pull to get it appart doesn't make sense but it's all appart now. thanks for your help!!!
