Is this change for the sake of change or does this rifle provide a significant advantage over the current AR/M16 platform that they are using? I am assuming that this rifle is still chambered in 5.56X45. The whole tactical fashion show mentality has gone too far.
I Chinese militiaman with a $60 Type 56 has the same combat effectiveness as these guys with $20,000 worth of tactical trinkets on them.
Its run on a much cleaner system, barrel change, and functionality for each operator and its cost effect compare to the M4 that needs SOPMOD upgrades As far of the controversy with the 5.56 goes that's a different story.
Why on earth are fully kitted and armed soldiers at a car race? Has the USA lost its mind?

All of which does not matter in the least. One artillery burst with a proximity detonated warhead negates the tactical trinkets and pretty costume. You're still thinking about playing hide and seek with armed peasants in the sand. Not really a war.
