I think being a demo they're just referring to the rifle that sat in the store for people to view at, and not sold for a while so people could see it in person. My local store does this for extremely popular rifles in order to allow people to place pre orders for their next batch, in the process sometimes they get very faint marks around the bolt/handguard etc. So cant be sold without a disclaimer.

It's a demo because it was out on display however it is still in excellent condition.
